Thrive: Living Life as God Intended

Thrive So many people have been impacted by the teaching provided my Matt as Sons of Korah take them on a journey through the Psalms. Matt is the teaching Pastor at a large church in Geelong Victoria and his ability to open scripture and engage people at a completely new and refreshing level is an amazing gift. For some time we were hounded to get some of Matt’s teaching material available and so we launched Thrive – a brand new daily devotional written by Matthew Jacoby. Thrive comes out each quarter and you can subscribe to have this sent to your home by going here.

Regarding the European Tour Just Completed

We had a great tour in Europe. All events were sold out in the Netherlands and we had an amazing sound and nlight team to work with the whole time. We also had a chance to do some tourist stuff which was nice. Thanks again to all who came and particularly all those who helped out. Special Thanks to Maarten, Herm, Jonathan and team and Hans in the Netherlands and Rob Cotten from the Bible Society in the UK. We will be touring in the UK again from May 12-23, 2010 - so you can catch us there again then if you live in the UK.

The Next Album

We have just embarked on the long journey toward making a new album. And this time it is an extra long journey because step 1 is: 'build a studio.' Yes that's right, we have started work on the new album by building ourselves a studio out the back of Rod Gear's place in Geelong. So this is really going to be a 'from-the ground-up' project. At this stage we have finshed the plastering and in the middle of painting. Once we have it all acoustically treated then we can start laying down some tracks. We will probably release a new album mid next year, depending on how fast the paint dries, heh heh.

Romans: The Unofficial Soundtrack -- OUT NOW!

Romans We are also excited to announce the release of Romans: The Unofficial Soundtrack. This is a project conceived by myself (Matt) and produced by Mike Avery (SoK bass player). It is not a 'Sons of Korah' project as such (very different stylistically!!) -- but we have produced it for the same reason as we produce the Sons of Korah albums: to engage people with the Word of God. It combines the grandiose reading of the King James text by actor Alexander Scourby with an electronic-industrial soundtrack. A very interesting juxtaposition. We are an independent band and therefore we do not have access to the big commercial promotional opportunities. Our biggest promotional vehicle has and always will be YOU telling others about our project. We have been greatly blessed through this grass roots approach and we are very grateful to those who believe in what we do enough to point other people our way and use our albums as gifts for others. We have always been overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of our listeners to help us promote our project and this has been the single most important factor in God's providence for us. Thankyou.
